Ok...just wanted to thank everyone who helped me over the hump as I move on to level-4 aircraft. I just thought I'd give another longwinded summary of my adventures.
There was a time when I thought this would be boring, that I would never get to fly the big planes. About the time I was leaving the king air for something "respectable", I discovered Chris Palmer's Angle of Attack, www.flyaoamedia.com/ - which brought me back to the humble Beachcraft Bonanza. I've tried to 'keep it real' and now find myself moving up to larger aircraft when I would still like to learn in the smaller craft.
I would really like to do vatsim flights, but even after the current stuff I've done, I'm still not ready. Also, I try to find addon planes that are more realistic than the FSX planes, allowing me to master more of the cockpit work, add in Radar Contact - which can help get me ready for 'real' vatsim, and FSpassengers for pure entertainment.
I love all of this and hope to get increasingly involved as I look at retiring from my full time job no later than next July.
I might actually have to take real lessons!
Finally, when I give up my real career next year, I would like to be considered for a Mgt. position with SPA. You will find my resume impeccable - including interactive website design (PHP and Java Script) - although programming has been more of a productive hobby related to my current career.
Thanks again, and I hope to continue to be a sustaining member of a great virtual airlines.

John,
All great stuff. Happy to have you aboard and look forward to your continuing participation. I know how you feel about advancing to the larger aircraft. Sometimes it is better to master what you're doing than to move on. Bear in mind that there is no "must" about being promoted. You are always able to fly any aircraft or flight number at or below your category. Keep doing what you learn from and share with the rest of us.
