I can get a sweet deal of FSX-Gold package. Is it worth upgrading from FS9? My computer specs are as follows:
Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz
4GB RAM
NVIDIA PureVideo HD GeForce 9200 GS
320GB
Can I run FSX without it draging my system down? I am happy with FS9, but hear FSX is soooo much better. I have heard you have to have a big system and I am not sure if I do. I know according to the games specs I do but what about actual system needs? I am interested in ANYONE"S imput.

El, your system is quite a bit hotter than mine. (Dual core with 1 GB RAM, GeForce 7800) I can run FSX, but frankly I think it sucks. It's jerky, sometimes behaves oddly or freezes, and the aircraft look cartoonish. FS9 runs smooth as silk, and 25-30 fps no matter what. For me, Active Sky is a must-have, and I'd have to buy that for FSX if I were going to use FSX regularly. I'll be upgrading my PC soon and give FSX another chance, but I want no part of it now. Some things about FSX are better, yes. But IMHO it's a real lemon.

El, here's something to be aware of:
MS is going to try to release Windows 7 in June. Unlike Vista, 7 is getting very good reviews from the technical press, according to a story on NPR today. And reviewers are saying it runs apps considerably faster than Vista. My PC came with XP installed and a free upgrade to Vista, which I've never installed. But I'll probably take the plunge with 7. I don't know what all this means for FSX, but I thought it might be useful info for you to think about. Good luck!

Eric,
I have a dual core T7600, 2.33 GHz, 4 GB, GeForce 7950 running Vista. I am generally happy with FSX, which generally runs at 15-17 fps (depending on AI density), but occasionally slows down to 6-7 fps. All-in-all I like it better than FS9. I think you should be fine.
