Pilots,

Here's a review of the current status of MSFS 2024 after a year of improvements.  It's done by one of the many Youtube channels that I like to watch.

Hi John and Happy New Year 2026!
Thanks for sharing this with us, I have purchased the Premium MSFS twice in the past year and both times I have asked for a refund, which they provided immediately. One of my biggest issues was the Cameras and the Flight Controls setup, it was almost impossible to get it working, I even went and spent like $20.00 on a tutor app for MSFS 2024, and it was useless.
I don't see the reason to spend over $100.00 and this FS is not even production ready IMHO. Again this is my opinion and personal experience, it might be that Im bias since I have been flying X-Plane for over 8 years now.
But even though X-Plane has it issues with plugins and such, its a very stable SIM out of the box, and at least you can tinkle with it and you can fly it...MSFS in my opinion not so much.
But definitely will take a look at this video,,,who knows it might convince me to purchase it again, LOL.

Thanks John and Happy Flying.

Thanks for sharing your experience Chili.  I only recently made the switch to 2024, and I'm still looking up the occasional keystroke to make things happen.  I've also had continuing issues with the controller settings...even after watching some videos on it.  To be honest though, I haven't followed them exactly, and really need to rework my controller assignments.

I also noted that you can set the keyboard to MSFS2020, so it responds to those keystrokes, but that led to other problems with some of my planes.  I ended up going back to the 2024 keyboard setting and just deal with the few keyboard changes I regularly use like Baro set (now a comma key).  The moving around the flight deck is still hit and miss but I know the general keys to push to see what happens.

Overall, I'm warming up to 2024 and don't intend on going back to 2020.  Especially now with JoinFS supporting multi-person flying with 2024 and other simulators.  I'm now regularly flying 2024 with Larry's Group flight on Wednesday nights while others fly MSFS2020 or even FSX.  It's great we can all fly together.

Happy flying, and a Happy New Year to you too.

John
