I started the MSP Hub awards several years ago to recogize our pilots who sustain the operations of our Minneapolis Hub. I used to determine the winner of these three awards every month by printing out the flight records and adding up the results. I suppose I could have written a spreadsheet macro to do this, but I was too lazy to bother. Anyhow, it got to be something of a chore, so I let it slip. Now John has automated the process and saved me the work of having to put this together myself every month. Thank you John.
Since I am now also the "Acting" MIA Hub Manager, I'd be plaeased to see John do the same thing for Miami. With respect to the EGLL Hub, that will be up to our Heathrow Hub Manager, and Special Operations Manager, and CEO, Yoland Grosjean.

I'll add the Miami Hub awards later today. I've been in discussion with Yoland regarding EGLL and Special Ops award options.

I'm somewhat unsure how to approach this issue at this point.
Personally, it doesn't really matter to me. Unless I'm mistaken, the 'awards' system or however you wish to define recognition of pilot activity here at SPA seems to have grown out of the individual efforts of the various managers of the various divisions. The system of recognition has varied to the taste of those managers.
I'm ambivalent regarding awards, but my programming background and increased familiarity with the internal workings of SPA, encourages me to find ways to automate routine tasks so that managers can concentrate on other things that lend themselves less to automation - including just enjoying flying now and again.
As webmaster I see a number of active pilots (or frequent fliers if you will). That is because I see the flight posting emails come through. With the addition of the 'flight arrivals' area, we can see regular pilot ID's show up if we check that area regularly.
While I'm not interested in a highly competitive environment here at SPA, I've found Mike's page to be a nice compromise in that it summarizes nicely those most active pilots during the month.
On the Special Ops end of things I enjoy the many colorful award images that Yoland has come up with and that show up in some of the pilot signatures.
Note: I don't make any negative assumptions regarding hours flown (or colorful images in pilot signatures) and their relation to whether pilots have a life outside of SPA. I assume we all do .
My thoughts regarding the Cargo/Passenger additions to SPAACARS was with the eventual idea of adding an economics module to this that would allow pilots to track their gains and losses based on fuel, distance, and cargo/passenger carried - as with FSPassenger, but only on line here at SPA. This would be just an additional are of interest that pilots might choose to explore - not a mandatory participation.
Lastly, I like the idea - if I understand it correctly, that the hub Mgrs. have had a certain autonomy on their hub offerings. Therefore I will do nothing intentional to tread on that autonomy.

Thanks Steve, but "Bush" is subdivision of Yoland's Special Ops already tracked based on flight number - as are other flight types.

My thoughts regarding the Econ module - that would utilize the latest SPAACARS additions of Cargo and Passenger would be independent of the various divisions and would apply to all flights - unless this was a problem for other managers.
Any pilot using SPAACARS wishing to track their econ data would do so by opting in for that in some way yet to be determined - likely by a settings choice in SPAACARS to upload the Econ data just like the landing rate is currently set up.
The actual Pilot Econ Data would be on a separate page - like I had set up for the <a href="www.stpaulairlines.com/index.php?module=...ghlight=fspassengers">FSPassenger page demo a while ago. Only with more of the econ data and financials displayed of course (something that FSPassenger won't do in an online grouping of pilots (aka companies or subcontractors of a virtual airline).
So basically, pilots opting in could see their 'company data' on this page, yet their flights will be normally recorded according to the requirements of the various hub Mgrs of those flights - whether Bush or other Special Ops, MSP, MIA. These would record as they currently do and the 'company data' page would just show the additional information recorded with those flights along with the financial calculations resulting in profit or loss based on the flight - fuel, cargo/pass, distance etc.
