MIA Pilots - Missing Flight Hours

Miami Pilots,

I have noticed that since we have transitioned to our new secure site that some folks may have some flight hours missing. I don't plan on going through every pilot record but if you notice that you are short on hours after the transition, please let me know so that I can adjust your pilot records accordingly.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

This is possible, as I did not wish to shut the site down for a day during the transition. When I sent the message of imminent transition, I did a final database update from the old site to populate the new site. Any flights completed during the time period of when I updated the current database from the old to the time the site flipped to the new system would not have been brought over to the new system.

This should only have affected those few pilots who completed the flights the day of the transition, and then - only those during the final few hours from the database update to the new system and the time the transition took place.

Even flights in progress during the transition should have made it to the new system if they landed after the new system was active, as those flights would have been saved to the new database.

It seems as though we lost a lot more. My newest pilot Steve Coates lost all of his flight time, one PIREP filed on 8/23/2020 and one on 8/26/2020. My record went from 2789.3 hours down to 2776.9 after the transition.

No biggie really. I just want to give my guys the ability to have their records fixed if they noticed anything amiss.

I can't thank you enough for all of your hard work on this project John!

Argh...You're right Eric,

Unfortunately when I updated the logbook records, I didn't update the pilots records, assuming that wasn't necessary since no new pilots had joined in the past week since the last update of the pilot table. I forgot that the pilot table contains the flight hour totals, and so they were not updated along with the logbook data.

This leaves me with kind of a problem. I can identify all the flights made during this week that I think covers the majority of flight hours missed (as best as can be determined by a quick look) I printout of the flight log table for 8-21 through 8-28 shows 85 flights, including those two flights (1.3 hours) from Steve. The flights will show in the pilots logbook but not the hour credits. I'll go through and try and correct the hourly totals based on recent emails showing flight totals for those pilots and the records I have.

Sorry about that...

No worries John!

I'll take care of the MIA pilots as I have all of the PIREPs filed during that time. I can't do much for the MSP and EGL folks but if there's a way you can send me that info, I would be more than happy to help out with those hubs.

Let me know what I can do to help.

I've been thinking, and since the logbook entries are current, it's only the totals that are off. Tomorrow I'll recalculate the hours for all pilots and update the totals for all pilot active pilots. That should automatically update all pilots totals to accurate values, including dropped flight totals and any new flights added back in. If no flights were made during the last hours then the totals will remain the same as they are.

I'll take care of this tomorrow.

Thanks for pointing this problem out. I'll let you know when I've updated the hourly totals.
