Pilots:
We have scheduled a repeat of our multiplayer flight of Doolittle's Tokyo Raid - appropriately on Veteran's Day. It will be at 1400 Hrs. Central Time (that's 2:pm) or 8pm UTC/Zulu time. I'll post again a reminder about an hour or two before the flight just so pilots can have one last chance to join the fun. Remember - this flight requires FSX or P3D simulator with our Adventure Pack #8 scenery download and our SPARRCAB Arrestor Cable download, and the two planes from the site links provided on the Adventure Pack page under Adventure Pack 8 information.
We will be combining both part I and part II this time around. In order to do this combined flight in reasonable time. We'll start with part-1 (the patrol boat attack) as usual, but after landing back on the carrier and switching to bombers, we will speed up our sims to get to mainland Japan before returning to normal speed to complete the bombing run. This time around we are installing the gun addons in Adventure Pack 9 to our Corsairs for the patrol boat attack. It will be fun to fire at the boat this time rather than just having it explode as we get close to it. The bombing run will still be automated as in the past - just get to 1000-1200 feet over the oil tanks at the shoreline and your bombs will drop automatically. Completing the bombing and landing at a nearby airport will complete our flight for the day.
We will be using JoinFS for our multiplayer server and our TeamSpeak servers to talk on. We'll set up the JoinFS connection once everyone's on teamspeak. I suggest everyone interested get logged on to teamspeak at least 15 minutes before the flight so you can get everything working before the flight start.
Also, you must have your scenery loaded and planes installed and configured (with both these tested) before you do the flight, as there won't be time to walk anyone through install problems at flight time. Therefore, if you're interested - please install that stuff now and contact me if you have questions or problems. I'm willing to help now and up to about an hour before our flight tine.
This is a lot of fun, - so if you want to fly it and have the right sim setup - read the Adventure Pack 8 information, install the stuff, test it out - contact me with any problems, and we'll all have fun Monday afternoon.
Also - both JoinFS and TeamSpeak2 are available as free downloads. Just Google them for the links - and again, let me know of questions or problems.
Hope to see you there (we had 5 pilots on our last (first) Tokyo Raid.
Happy flying,

This multiplayer flight is scheduled for tomorrow at 2pm (1400) central time. Make sure you get that scenery and plane addons installed and checked out so you can join in the fun.
We will me meeting on our St. Paul Airlines TeamSpeak and using JoinFS to see each others planes. The scenery has flight plans included and a Scenario or "flight" file that you can load that will put you right on the carrier. You will probably have to select your aircraft once on the carrier, as it will likely switch to your default aircraft.
I plan on being on TeamSpeak about a half hour before flight time (or more) so as to help anyone with last minute issues (that hopefully can be solved before takeoff time).
See you there,
John

Many thanks to SOP Mgr. Larry, Spencer A. and Jim A. for helping make this Veteran’s Day flight of Doolittle’s Tokyo Raid a success. Four pilots was a reasonable repeat of our original multiplayer flight of this adventure. Sorry about my colorful language after many failed attempts to land back on the carrier- don’t know how those guys do it.
Anyway, in spite of the usual issues, we managed to finish both parts in 2.5 hours. I hope to have a video and see great pics to share with other SPA pilots so that they might be encouraged to join in the fun on whatever next multiplayer flight we might have.
Thanks again you guys!

Hah...just like that quote from the Gamer parody in the Onion "Geez...how many times do I have to die for my country". If you participating flyboys took a break from shooting and bombing everything in sight long enough to take a picture or two, feel free to post them in the gallery.
Thanks again,
John

Despite a slow start, we completed the Bombing raid over Japan and the sinking of the picket boat. Whenever we get a group of guys flying on some type of mission like this, it really
brings the camaraderie amongst the flyers. We all have one goal and that goal is to either sink a boat or bomb the hell out of something. For me sometimes is, to watch how other fellas maneuver
their aircraft with the other pilots to shoot or drop their bombs on their targets. This is the true meaning in multiplayer flying. Sometimes it`s not pretty but very colorful, like watching a comedy show.
The bottom line is, we all had a ball, we accomplished what we came here to do, and now we wait for the next mission...Good job fellas...
