Promotions from Alaska

As I write I am aboard the MV Star Legend at the end of the Tracy Arm and at the terminal icefall of the South Sawyer Glacier in southeast Alaska. We are about 45 miles south of Juneau and, of course, I am here doing research for the next exciting batch of SPA Alaskan Bush flights .

What better time to use the ship's painfully slow satellite internet connection to check the current SPA roster and discover that two of our more active pilots are overdue for much deserved promotions.

So, please join me in a hearty round of congratulations to Ben Bear on his promotion to Fleet Captain and to Oswald Wolke on his promotion to Captain. Great work gentlemen.

Always nice to see pilots persevere and be rewarded for their flight time here at St. Paul Airlines - and Oswald is probably our most senior FlightGear pilot at this time.

Thanks Mike for your long-distance contribution in seeing these pilots get their well-deserved promotions. Hopefully you didn't miss any scenic views while toiling away at a computer screen. I've always wanted to do an Alaskan cruise, having covered to much of that territory virtually.
