For you Prepare3D users, I've found that they have a new version out. They have the install in 2 options: Complete Install or Client.

You and download various parts of the program for updating: Client, Scenery and Content (I think these are the 3 groups)

I followed their suggested install of "Client only" for the 4.1 upgrade. They suggest this because it will preserve most of your addons while updating the P3d client where most updates have been done. The other two areas (scenery and content) had fewer updates and may not be worth updates that would require reinstall of your addons.

To install the new client you must first uninstall the current client. I uninstalled this through the Windows control panel uninstall (make sure you select the client part). After choosing "uninstall" you'll eventually be prompted about whether or not you wish to deactivate Prepar3D. You should choose “No” if you are simply updating the same machine and, therefore, will not have to reactivate once the reinstall is finished.

To be on the safe side, I rebooted my system after uninstalling and before installing the new client. I then installed the new client and again rebooted.

My p3d was up and running again without having to reinstall all the orbx/ftx scenery, payware aircraft or other addons like FSUIPC or SPADNEXT.

Oh..just found out that (for those who use EZdok Camera like I do), the new version of p3d causes an issue with EZdok camera in that it won't let you steer your plane on the ground! To work around this until EZdok has a fix release, just turn off the "Fuselage Shake" channel and your steering will be restore.
