Pilots,

For those of you who like to use FS Passengers in your flights, I've created a FSP page that will allow pilots to track FSP flights and data. I've replicated the nicest demo page at the FSP site (Swiss Air), but there are many more pages listings that can be made from the FSP flight uploads, and some tweaks left on this current page:

<font color="red">Note: You must be logged in to see this page!</font>

<a href="www.stpaulairlines.com/index.php?module=...SP/FsPlistflight.php">www.stpaulairlines.com/index.php?module=...SP/FsPlistflight.php

Note that the flight number for each flight is a 'clickable' link that takes you to the detail page for that flight.

While I believe I can in the future make FSP file a PIREP as well, at this point uploading FSP flights is separate from the regular SPA log, so you must file your PIREPS manually, through FSACARS, or using FSFK.

I can also list the data grouped by pilot. At this point FSP doesn't include your 'company's' financial data in the upload, so we can't track business gains and losses - we might be able to set something up based on the data we can upload.

At least this provides a way to share FSP data with other pilots at SPA.

Let me know your thoughts :-) .

John

Really interesting John. I don't understand just how this works, but I'll have a look.

Mike,

Right now all it can do is post your flight data from FSPassengers up to the SPA FSPassngers Page.

I should also note that this upload process will take a SPA configuration file just like FSACARS and FSFK.

The nice part about this is that - with a little more programming we FS Passenger users could track Passenger/Cargo carried, fuel burned pilot hours, etc. With this we could set up a simple cost/revenue system that FS Passenger Users could utilize in addition to flying the regular SPA flights.

I'm just thinking off the cuff here, but FSP does not provide uploading company financials to the VA, just the information shown in the detail area when you click on one of the links in the flight list on our SPA FSP page.

Therefore it will be up to us to put the financial part into practice, such as carrying enough passengers with no unnecessary fuel, and like Yoland's Cargo flights - no unnecessary empty flights back to a hub.

We can set it up anyway we wish based on the flight information available through FSP.

Again - not a requirement for SPA, yet for those with FSP and those who might get it, it might provide some additional fun.

Upon further review I have discovered that automatic PIREP with SPA using FSP will not be possible due to the way FSP handles Flight Numbers. They are assigned randomly and cannot be made to accept SPA numbering. Additional fields of weather, route, comments and flight Dist are not available - although I could probably pull weather in from someplace else.

Only partial solution I could offer would be a manual PIREP entry as many pilots still use, but with most of the data auto-filled with your FSP data. The above-fields would have to be manually entered by the pilot before the PIREP is submitted.
