When posting Pirep is the flight time the time between engine on and engine off or is it the time between take off and landing?

Warren,
If I recall correctly, the instructions are to note the times you start and turn off the engines. So that's what we use when filing thru VAHQ. If you file via FSACARs, it will start and stop the timer on the release and resetting of the parking brake. Depending on whether you start before push or after starting push back, the interval in one case can be larger or smaller than the other. If your aircraft has an APU, you can follow "real world" procedure and start after the tug begins pushing you back. If not, you have to be careful not to run your battery down if your don't start the engines early in the preflight procedures.
