Well after much waiting the day has finally come when a new computer has been ordered!!! Now...i'm not entirely sure of specs but here are rough ones for the moment
Windows XP
250G hard-drive
AMD dual core proccessor (not sure what speed)
2Gig ram
ATI 256mb video card(i think...not sure whether its nvidia or ATI)
19" flat panel monitor
should be an improvement over our current one :

edited by: tbone-guy, Jun 13, 2007 - 10:56 PM

Should be a pretty vast improvement. I have almost the same setup with the exception of my video card. I went ahead with the 512mb nVidia and haven't looked back since!!

Cillian,
This is so good news. I'm happy for you. You will be so glad with your new setup.
I see Cillian kicking everyone's butt in the screenshot competition from now onwards.
Please let us know when it arrives and how you like it.

Hey tbone........that is great news!
I'm sure it will be a big improvement!
All I did was increase my RAM from 1GB to 2GB and add a new top end AGP 512 vid card, and I can't believe the big improvement I saw!
Let us know how you like it.

Jim:
I went to NewEgg and just purchased a GF7950GT.512 last week. I couldn't be happier! My system is over 3.5 years old (AGP) and that new vid card put new life in it.
I can now run FSX with most sliders up 3/4 or better. FPS are about 15-20 most of the time...and nice and stable.
The card cost $269.
P.S.> What ever you get...make sure you have the power to run it!
I have 3.2 P4
2 GB RAM
Good luck!

edited by: jetjerry, Jun 14, 2007 - 07:13 PM
