PIlots,

There's freeware updates in the marketplace for US and Japan scenery.  Apparently this has to be selected and downloaded - it's not automatic.  I did the US today, not Japan yet.  Additionally, there was a general update yesterday and there is an A32nx mod update for the FlybyWire freeware mod for the A320Neo.  My flight today with the new updates for the A320 (both the FS2020 update and the FlybyWire latest stable mod) made for a great flight.  The plane made it to the required alt (although I was only at 16000) and best of all - it MCDU took the flight plan and the approach entry without all the lines and attempt to turn a complete circle.  Fingers crossed that we're seeing some progress with this aircraft.

I haven't tried using SPA ACARS on MSFS until today and it doesn't connect to the sim. I've probably missed something. Is there something I have to do to get it to connect?

Also is there a way to put the new numbering system prefix into the SPA.ini file so it automatically loads it and I only have to put in the flight number?

Thanks for all your hard work.

PS I'm not using fsuipc in MSFS so that is probably the issue.  Will the old version we use in P3D work or do I have to buy it again?

Bill,

No can't change ini file for flight number because that's needed in many places and the user-defined number is only for user-defined flights and that would then need to be removed for any scheduled flights.

You are correct that FSUIPC is the problem. No...the old fsuipc with p3d won't work. You need fsuipc v7.

I'm still using the Free FSUIPC7. It works fine but I need to check out the paid version.

I don't mind buying the payware version because I want to support those who have developed things that allowed me to do so much more with my simulator and controllers - not to mention that I've used their FSUIPC and its related SDK documentation to transact communications between my SPAACARS program and the many simulators fsx and predecessors, P3D, and now FS2020.   Only FlightGear required an entirely new communication protocol not dependent on FSUIPC to communicate with SimConnect which communicates with the FSX/P3D/Fs2020 simulators.

As for FSUIPC 7, I've found it less useful than the earlier paid versions thus far because I haven't found a need for the additional tweaks and settings that come with the premium version - even though I have the paid version.  So...I recommend using the free version of FSUIPC 7 unless you need some of the additional feature of the paid version or want to give a little extra to support the things you consider beneficial to your enjoyment of our hobby.  I might at some point want to use the additional features of the paid version anyway, and it's nice to have them available now to test various controller options it has to offer.  I bought it when the beta version - that had the options for free - timed out and the menu no longer appeared.  I bought the paid version to restore the various options that I took for granted.  MSFS/FS2020 has controller options that were satisfactory for my needs without needing FSUIPC's additonal tweaks that come with the paid version.
