Cody,
I ran into the same problem when I first fired up FSX last summer. I had been using FSNavigator with FS9 for some time and was really missing it. However, it turns out that FS Commander is a similar, maybe superior, product and works with both FS9 and FSX. I think you'll like it.

FSNav is no more! The author has closed his site and made a public announcement that no further support is offered as well. I got FS Commander for Xmas and am still playing with it. Not sure I like it as I only have one monitor....and it does not work within FS like FSNav did....oh well, thats progress right?

I have FSC, and with a two monitor setup it is very nice. If you are used to FSNav, then it takes awhile to get used to it, as it is very different, yet has more capability when you've taken the time to learn them.
It will work with either FSX or FS9. It builds both databases, and you just switch back and forth.
A good thing is, it runs independent of MSFS. A bad thing is, it runs independent of MSFS. It all depends on how you look at it.
Independent is good IF you have a two monitor setup.
