Great A320Neo MSFS videos by a real A320 pilot

This guy is great at explaining the plane and how it works (or should work). He's using the opensource project's enhanced mod to improve the default A320Neo.

I've yet to install anything but the original software and the updates. I'm tempted to test the A320 mod this guy is showing in his videos because the default version of the A320 and other aircraft are barely flyable.

My concern is that, after the last official MSFS update patch, many simmers were having terrible install/crash to desktop issues that were directly related to these addon mods that didn't respond well to the official patches. It also seems that you have no choice but to install the update patches, as the sim won't start up until it installs the update (unless I don't know how to tell it to do that).

Has anyone else been testing out the addons, and how have they worked with the official patch releases?

I get my FS2020 scenery and vehicles from ORBX Central. If something goes wrong, then they will issue free patches for it.

I got so frustrated with the black patches and other intractable problems with Orbx scenery that I'm reluctant to inflict those problems on the wonderful overall scenery of FS2020.

I have not seen the "Black Patches" in my ORBX scenery. I used to have a problem, but I worked on getting the scenery files in the proper order in the priority stack, so that fixed it. Go to ORBX Central - Settings - Insertion Point.

Ok... so I took a chance and downloaded the open source mod for the A320 and the livery Megapack. I'm very pleased with the improvements and was able to make successful flights again from KMSP to KDLH and back again. I'm still having some minor throttle control issues, but the route planning and changing on the MCDU is more functional than the default version ever was.

Now at least I can fly following the instructions from this real-world A320 pilot's FS2020 tutorials.

FS2020 is somewhat flyable for me again :klatsch:
