PIlots,
I've deleted the existing test data from the econ mod after making recent changes to how the cargo rates are calculated (downwards to more closely match passenger flight revenue.
I'm still testing things and will again remove econ data when testing is complete, so feel free to play around with econ mode by trying different pax and cargo and plane settings to see what works for you and what doesn't - especially now with the revenue margins for cargo much tighter than before.

I tried my test passenger flight with the beaver - tundra wheels rather than amphibian and cannot generate positive revenue for that aircraft, so I'm guessing I'll have to make more revenue adjustments.

John,
My last couple of attempts to generate positive revenue with the Beaver were unsuccessful, even though I loaded the aircraft to maximum capacity. If a full load won't make money, what will?

John,
Just did a short flight with a C208B with 10 pax.
It lost a lot of money. I looked at the revenue and it was $300! That's $30 per pax. Show me where I can get a flight that cheap.

Guys,
I'm reworking the finances now, and will have post when I've updated the calculations.
Note: the calcs are not directly related to SPAACARS and so no download will be necessary.
Thanks for the input.

I found an error in my code that was forcing all flights to use the cargo rates. I've fixed it and again deleted the econ data. So we can test a bit more.
There may still be a need for tweaking, but I'll see what the flight data shows.
I created an excel spreadsheet of the calcs to make it easier to see how the adjustments I make will affect the data. This should speed up the process of fixing this so that both large and small, pax and cargo flights can be profitable.
Sorry about that.
Edit:
I've made some adjustments to passenger calc based on my spreadsheet data and it appears to work for small aircraft ie beaver and B-1900.
We'll have to test further with different aircraft using pax and cargo modes to see if things are better now.
