X-Plane

Is SPARS going to be updated for X-Plane. I suppose since Pete Dowson isn't going to make a version of FSUIPC for X-Plane SPA may not work with X-Plane. Another airline I fly with works just fine with X-Pane. I don't know why, but I have tried SPA with X-Plane and it doesn't work for me. It show a green simconnect light but it won't load the flight plan.

Hey Ron,
I don't use Xplane and haven't bought a copy to work with, so that's why SPAACARS has less compatibility with Xplane. It's my understanding that Xplane will work with SPAACARS, but the pilot must manually enter the flight plan data in order to activate the "start" button. This strikes a chord with me because the main impetus for my developing SPAACARS was my frustration over the old FSACARS program not being able to upload the FSX flight plan.
I'm always reluctant to change the workings of SPAACARS because going through the pages of code that comprise it requires me to once again acquaint myself with what's going on in there before I can change anything. Then, once I do make changes, there's the inevitable rash of new errors and bugs that pilots bring to my attention that require debugging before a final - somewhat stable version exists.
So...my plan was to wait a bit longer to see what possible changes the new versions and new releases of simulators might require to keep SPAACARS up and running, and then deal with all these changes at once rather than having to repeat the aforementioned process a number of times.
I was not aware that FSUIPC was not going to support Xplane in the future. If this is true, then Xplane would no longer work with SPAACARS because SPAACARS relies completely on FSUIPC for communication. This would be yet another change in future simulator releases that I would have to consider - and one that could end the compatibility between Xplane and SPAACARS completely. We'll have to see what the future holds - but if things remain the same, I will hope to add Xplane flight plan handling into the next version of SPAACARS when I finally dig into it.

Ron,
I think I should have remembered this, but FSUIPC never supported Xplane, but there is a program that converts Xplane offsets to FSUIPC offsets that will allow (or has allowed) SPAACARS to work with Xplane. Again, provided that this program continues to support future versions of Xplane, then SPAACARS should continue to function with Xplane. Of course, the XPlane flight plan will not be able to loaded into SPAACARS until I develop an interpreter for it.
The program is called XPUIPC and is available here:
<a title="www.schiratti.com/xpuipc.html" href="/www.schiratti.com/xpuipc.html" target="_blank">www.schiratti.com/xpuipc.html
</a>The actual website for XPUIPC is under construction, so I hope this doesn't mean a discontinuation of the program support.

There is a Xuipc file made by someone else, I don't know much about it, Personally I don't care for X-Plane, it seems a little strange with the keyboard being entirely different. I am having a problem with Prepar 3D V4. It was fine yesterday but won't start today. That's why I was using X-Plane. Oh well I can use FSX,

Hah Ron, that's the main reason I didn't use XPlane after one of the very first versions - I would have had to learn an entirely new key configuration. Still, it seems to be a fairly popular simulator these days, in spite of the competition. Sorry to hear about your P3d issues - there seems to a lot of that going round lately.
Yes, XPUIPC is made by someone else, but the link to that file that's available is on Dowson's FSUIPC site I believe - the link I provider in my previous response.
Good luck getting things back up and running with P3d. If you must do a full reinstall, it might be worth upgrading to the new p3d v5 - although I'm not sure that's the panacea to all problems either at this point. Some things change while others remain the same ie. bugs bugs bugs.
