FS2020 Endless Go Arounds

Ok...I'm really loving this simulator, but there are still some issues to get worked out. I've been 'relearning' the A320. Today, I flew from KDLH to KMSP. Now going the other direction no problem, but when I wanted to land at KMSP I ran into an endless trail of planes landing in front of me. After the first go-around, I was again lined up (3rd in line for landing and yet on final). Needless to say, the plane in front of me had not yet cleared the runway and I was again ordered to go around. My go pilot I think was helping or something because again my engine surged and I was forced to go around whether I wanted to or not. This time I ignored ATC and took over manual control to make a right downwind and right base to Rwy 30L for landing...just budding my way in line. No complaints from ATC other than reminders to expedite my climb to my assigned altitude. I didn't even hear them clear other traffic from the 'offending plane'. Surprisingly however, I landed without running into another aircraft, so I don't know where they went at that precise moment.

I'll have to look into that issue, but I do love the scenery. It seems a bit fuzzy to me, but it might be the 3 monitors I'm using.

I did some tweaking today, upgrading Geforce drivers and upping the Depth of Field setting of FS2020 to Ultra. Still very little stuttering, and I think it might have helped sharpen things a bit. I also set it for real world weather, but it had been raining here and did not rain at all in the sim. Oh well...

Hey Ron, Yes...once I found that the pause key was the key that was the "active pause". I've not had actual problems pausing, but it continues to make noises that makes me think that it's doing things other than pausing. Other than those suspicious sound effects, I've not had problems with active pause. Perhaps it didn't recognize the keypress you made. It's always good to look at the plane and make sure it's not actually doing anything before you assume it's in pause mode.

As for the go-arounds, I was forced to go-around again on my next flight, but only once this time and was able to land the second time, but it still looks like a crap-shoot at busy airports without the option to clear the approach like P3D addon Ultimate Traffic provided.

I always used to have problems with multiple go-arounds in FS9 and FSX. It got so annoying that I ended up turning off AI traffic completely. After flying a few times in 2020 with live traffic I shut it off as well. The endless go-around has been a frustration of mine for years and years.

As far as active pause in 2020, its supposed to be a function so that you can take pictures in the moment that you have paused the sim in. I don't use it. If I need to pause, I just hit the escape button and when I'm ready to come back, I just click on resume. Never had an issue doing it that way.

Yes...I've also found where I can turn off real-world traffic and set custom amounts by slider like the old ai traffic settings of FSX. I haven't done that yet.

Has anyone figured out how to do a return flight without restarting from the main menu. I wanted to make a return flight to KMSP from KDMS and couldn't figure out how to get ATC to give me clearance for the return flight. I finally took off and was scolded by ATC for taking off without authority. Then I struggled to get anything but flight following until I was close enough to MSP to select it for landing permission. When given permission, I was directed to Rwy22 without the option to change landing runway.
