Pilots:

I've added a new Service Award icon for pilots who contribute to St. Paul Airline's Paypal account.  This award will be given annually (throughout the year) to pilots who contribute to our Paypal account (regardless of the amount).  The "Contributing Member" icon will show under your name in the Pilot Awards page for each year you make a contribution.  NOTAM:  This is not meant to imply that we're in dire need of funding (a small group of faithful contributors have kept us afloat here for many happy years - and continue to do so).  I just felt that it was time to recognize those pilots who have contributed to keeping the lights on here at SPA.  The icon is standardized for all pilots and doesn't show the amount contributed - only that a financial contribution was made:

We're very happy here at SPA just to have all of you flying with us and keeping our VA active and fun.  For those who want to show their appreciation for what we do here by helping maintain our website, as has always been the case, feel free to click on the Paypal link on the right-side menu and contribute if and when you are so inclined.  Now, upon receiving a notice of contribution, in addition to the usual personal "Thank you" email, we will add the "Contributing Member" icon to your awards page for the year of contribution.

All contributions are directed to the necessary payments to our Internet provider.  The management team is entirely voluntary and no funds go directly to the managing members.

I've made this retroactive for 2018 as well.

Thanks to all for your continued support through participation, financial contribution, volunteering as a member of the management team or any combination of the aforementioned.

clap

John

No worries Bill,

If you wish to contribute again at some point in the future, you'll find the "Donate -Paypal" link on the right-hand menu that's visible when you are on our main webpage.  Scroll down to the very bottom of the of that right-hand menu.

This right-side menu disappears on most other pages other than the main home-page of the website - just as it isn't visible when you're here on the "Forum" page.

To fellow Pilots:

when l join ST Paul`s Airline, l did not know there was a cost of operating the airline. When l found out, l was happy to
donate so l could do my small part to share in the operating expense of this airline where l spend many hours flying
around. It`s just another way of saying, thank you for those in charge.

Thanks for the reminder.  I sent a donation.  It's good to do this reminder yearly.  It helps us old folks....:)

Thanks Bill,

We got it.  When I get back in town I’ll issue contributing member icons to those pilots who have made contributions this week.  I’m hoping to be back in the US Saturday, but with a snow storm expected to drop about 13 inches of snow there when my plane is due, I’m not sure when I’ll get back.

These are the imponderabilities of real aviation wink
Have a good flight!

Hah Oswald, so true!

As it turns out we were put in holding patter for about 1 half hour while they cleared the still-accumulating snow from the runway.  Then, we were third in line to land, so it put us in about an hour later than expected.  The fact that we could land at all in such weather says much about the skill and technology of the airlines, airports and the people working there.  It was a bit scary on landing - planed swaying from side to side, which was something I wasn't used to experiencing.

The white-knuckle drive home from the airport was even more frightening because the drivers around me had significantly less skill and professionalism than the pilots in the air and at the airport.

Regardless...I'm back and hopefully have caught up on those pending tasks.  Now on to flying some Econ and Adventure flights.

I hope you enjoyed your free extra time airborne and dreamed yourself into the cockpit, knowing very well what to do after all that Econ flights you did wink
