In 2019 SPA celebrates its 15th year of service.  I've now updated the annual video (last year in pictures) to capture the various flights and activities of the past year (the video link is also on our main home page before logging in).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm2RXOjJ7CE

Thank you to all pilots who contributed photos to the photo gallery, and to all pilots and managers for all the flights made and time spent here at SPA to make it another great year!

Merry Christmas to you too.
Now for my problem. SPACARS has suddenly stopped working. It worked fine yesterday. We had a power outage last night and now it won't connect. I load the airplane and the flightplan, set the fuel and payload and then start up SPACARS 10.6, but the sim connect light stays red and the button for the flightplan stays grayed out. I tried re installing SPACARS, but that didn't do any good. Any ideas.

Hey Bill,

Sounds like something might have happened to your FSUIPC when your power went out.  You may want to check that FSUIPC is still working correctly, as that's what SPAACARS uses to connect with the Sim.  The red connect light indicates no connection.

Happy New Year to all

Congrats to St Paul`s Airline on their 15th year in service. With all the Flights, Missions and Adventure Packs created by our Managers and of course our Webmaster, how can we not
believe this is not the No.1 Virtual Airline out there?  Great job guys
Looking to do a lot of flying in the New Year again

John,
Thanks for the reply. I think you're right about FSUIPC being the problem. It's been so long since I installed it (paid version), I've forgotten where it would be located. Any ideas?

l had the same problem one time, not being able to connect with the SPAACARS, l figured it was my FSUIPC, so l uninstall the one l had
and downloaded a new freeware version, and it`s been working ever since. Good luck

Bill, you should have a separate install folder for your FSUIPC with an exe to run it and auto install.  It should just install the files over the old ones there, but all the files installed are installed to your flight sim's "Modules" folder.

It is good to make sure you get the latest version of FSUIPC for your simulator.

Have I been with SPA for fifteen years? I remember when this web site existed on a company server and hub managers were maintaining pilot logbooks on Excel spreadsheets.

Hah yes Robert!

...and many of the pages of code for our website bear your name still!

I never knew the humble beginnings of the site, but after years of pouring over the hundreds of pages of code, I suspected that the site started humbly as a small website before even being migrated to the PostNuke CMS.  There's also quite a number of old pages that we've been carrying along in backups that are no longer live.  I sent many of the files to Yoland to incorporate into some historical flight plans because so much work went into them.  I even found a somewhat "R-rated" version of the pilot's office - but that's another story.

Thanks for helping create SPA, and continuing along so many years!

Perhaps only Mike D. and Yoland are the next longest-serving SPA members.

It's been loads of fun, with personal connections that aren't likely to be made at other larger and more impersonal VA's.

Reflecting on the past year (and years before that) generally offers happy thoughts relative to SPA.

All the best to you and all other SPA pilots in the coming year.

John

Congratulations to St Paul Airlines for 15 years in service. A lot of the work keeping SPA going has to be contributed to Mike D. and John R. Thanks guys for your work and dedication.

Is there a way to find out my original joining date to St. Paul Airlines?  I'm pretty sure it was before fall of 2004.  Just Curious since it's Anniversary time...

Sorry Bill, the records that I can access show you where terminated then reinstated on 5/25/2015.  I check a few other pilots near your number and they don't show enrollment dates. Maybe John or Mike D can help with more info.

Yes Bill,

Look in your logbook and you'll see your first flight was April, 27, 2004.  I'm guessing you started in the spring of 2004 then.

Hub managers can also look at this in VAHQ - choose menu option logbook by pilot and date range.  After entering the pilot id, you will then see the same screen the pilots see for logbook review (ie. past 7, 14,30, all) records display options.

Know also that the pilot ID's are consecutive - so you're one of the early ones laughing.

Thanks, Folks. April 27, 2004, sounds good.  I knew it was a while ago.
