Hello pilots,

I'd just like to tell the SOP team and all interested that it is much fun to fly the California Heli tour. I use a new version of the Sikorsky S76C++ Heli, Alpha version from the FGUK (Flightgear UK) development team with allegedly quite realistic FDM, takes up to 12 passengers and some cargo. Due to high fuel consumption (it is a heli!) econ mode is a challenge with small revenues, but I like scenery, aircraft, flying by hand and the challenge.

Many thanks to John for making SPAACARS usable for Flightgear pilots including Econ Mode!

A pair of images down below ...

Hah...Thanks Oswald.

Interesting how it worked for a heli, as it was not factored into development of the latest cost/revenue model.  You can thank Yoland for the Heli tour, developed for a pilot who joined a while back who only flew helicopters (We try to please our pilots here - even if there is limited interest in various offerings).  He didn't stay long, but the tour is still there.

Oswald,

do you have a link to the hangar or catalog.xml?
That would be great.

Hi Ben,

this and many other great helis you find at fguk.eu

Apart from SPA FGUK is my other flight sim favorite: There are really nice saturday night multiplayer flights, each and every saturday all through the year. I usually swap the fighter jet ones, but do like the heli and rare GA events.

Thanks for the info Oswald. I gonna have a look there. I doubt that I will join yet another airline or group with events and flights, but I definitely like flying helicopters (besides seaplanes). So many nice opportunities here in Venezuela and nearby. Besides: I do really need some practice flying helos I think. :P

Gonna see what I find there and probably gonna download some of the helis. I remember when still using FSX, I loved hovercontrol.com for their large amount of helos... though many of them lacked details or a good cockpit, which is quite important for a helicopter.

Cheers

Ben

California Coast Helicopter Tour finished, finally arrived at KNRS (Imperial Beach) near the Mexican Border. It is a nice tour, fun to fly, very short legs, not much to gain on Econ mode, but worthwhile. See image with heli after all passengers have left for the beach (some went to take a bath, other to a bar longing for their due sex on the beach).
