Check out REX SkyForce 3D. I have it and love it for sky and weather depiction. It's as real as it gets.

H Bob,  Are you using P3D v4 or FSX and are you comparing that with Active Sky?

I am using P3D v4 and stopped using Active Sky for now. Check out the photo album "Robert's Ramblings."
