Tentatively planned the flight for tomorrow.  If any pilot is interested and can't make that date/time, feel free to suggest another date/time.

Now this is what I'm talking about. This is what a VA is all about!

Those of you who don't participate have no idea of what VA fun is. Five planes in the air together flying and having great fun laughing at and with each other! Great fun with a great adventure pack. Yoland, you need to get in on the fun along with the 12 other members. Imagine 17 flyers in the air together on an adventure

I suggested it before without any interest, but maybe now is the time for another try. Oshkosh 2017, with our own Oshkosh marshall, Bill Carson showing us the way! Let's here it guys!

Regards,

It was great fun Steve, and thanks to you and the others for joining in.  We must remember though that Yoland is many hours difference from us and that makes group flights difficult for those in other countries.  It even can be an issue for us on opposite coasts.

My suggestion for multiplayer flights is to provide enough information in advance so that those who wish to join in the fun have the date/time in advance and the necessary files, information and/or flight plan to keep things running smoothly.  While I also try to give some idea of the time involved in the flight and keep it between 1 and 2 hours, this one ran a bit longer with 5 of us trying to fly in what I embarrassingly call "formation".  Still, all that attempted formation flying whiled away the time over the open water and even made fun out of what would have been a bit tedious flight to the target.  The successful bombing run was a nice end of the flight.  Lastly, it was great to get a chance to join Jim and Scott in a group flight, as I don't think I had the opportunity to fly with them (at least not on the same flight plan).  I hope that we might work additional flights into our schedule, and agree with you that additional pilots would just add to the fun.

I'm pretty busy tomorrow but hope to get a chance to see if that recording was successful on Thursday.  If so, it should make for a good video of Part-2 of the Doolittle Raid Adventure.

Thanks again Steve, Jim, Scott and Larry for the enjoyable afternoon's flying adventure.

John

Hello Steve, John, Gentlemen,

I know the fun of flying together, especially without strict rules, just for the pleasure of sharing something and enjoying our hobby together (I even tried VATSIM and IVAO, but without real pleasure because of the stringent procedures and the lack of fantasy from the bloody controllers). rambo
By the way I am also a very active member of an online French group, but we fly exclusively around the Alps (Swiss, French, Italian, Austrian and German) over landscapes belonging to the area where we live. It is never very serious and these flights are what I would call *jokes flights". As a matter of fact we are all old retired real World  GA Pilots and we have good time by exchanging our "memories of youth" (or lies if you prefer!).
Myself, I obtained my pilot license in 1960, and I was a real bush pilot in East Africa, based in Malindi (Kenya) from 1968 to 1972. I used to tranport tourists and hunters all over the wildlife National Parks in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
At that time, I also flew frequently to Mogadishu in Somalia with tourists eager to visit this country far from everything (but in the sixties it was not yet very dangerous)!

Now a word about SPA online flights. Of course the 6 hours difference between my country (Switzerland) and the US standard Eastern Time is 6 hours, and with the pacific coast it is event much greate. So for me it is really  difficult to synchronize my timetable with my US friends. Furthermore I am still very active as a professional journalist despite my age (soon 75). Thus I have free time for our hobby when you guys are sleeping !

Presently, I have also to spend much time with my dear wife Isabelle w
ho is dying slowly from nasty bronchial cancer

One should also remember that instead of flying frequently, I spend some time dedicated to SPA. I try to imagine new challenging flights, I am present on our forum. I have also some administrative tasks.

In short, I spend also some time to serving our VA.

Finally, I do not apologize, but I'm counting on your understanding cool

angel

Yoland, sorry to hear of your wife's terrible battle with cancer My mother died of lung cancer as well.

Understand your busy life, not a problem, but also understand the complexity time difference throws in there. 2 PM NY time, 8 PM Swiss time and 11 AM California time all play well. Just sayin, we do what we want, if we want.

May God be with you and Isabelle.

Regards,
